What began as a simple collection of cannabis clone poetry written during my first experience working within the legal federal industry here in Canada ended as a metaphorical looping artwork illustrating how I found gratitude and peace following the mourning of my late childhood dog, Ruby. The Entourage Effect is more than just plant puns and celebrating the connections we make during our blink of time here on earth; it is a thank you, an apology, an ode, and a nod to all of the people who have touched my life and left their marks in between the lines I bloom.
The kindness you give in this world- and the love you have with nowhere to go- exists in every flower growing out of a paved sidewalk crack, every double rainbow you least expect to see in the grocery store parking lot, and in every clone you tend to with care. In life and in death, the entourage you grow from is an ever-present connection with no real beginning and no real end: the effects that ripple will continue to feed the universe ten-fold. My girl might be gone, but I am still here, the sun still shines, and so as long as I am living I am so thankful to remember all of the wonderful connections I have consciously made. I continue to grow, and to honor the memory of those no longer with us is to keep them forever alive in the ripples of life.
